Superfood Berry Salad With Turmeric Ginger Dressing A supercharged meal that tastes super good. This salad is loaded with superfoods—broccoli sprouts that support detoxification, berries that contain free radical scavengers, turmeric that supports a healthy inflammatory response and chia seeds for plant-based omega-3, and a little prebiotic fiber boost. All of which support women’s health. SERVES: 4-6 TOTAL TIME: 20 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS For the dressing Juice of ½ an organic lemon ¼ cup Natural Grocers ® Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 tablespoons Natural Grocers Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 tablespoon Natural Grocers Brand Organic Apple Cider Vinegar 1-inch knob of organic ginger, (about 1 tablespoon roughly chopped) 1 small knob organic turmeric, (about 2 teaspoons roughly chopped); or ½ teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Ground Turmeric 2 teaspoons Natural Grocers Brand Organic Grade A Dark Maple Syrup 1 tablespoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Chia Seeds ½ teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Real Salt For the salad 2 cups chopped organic kale 1 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Real Salt, to taste 1 (5-ounce) package organic mixed or baby greens of your choice 1 medium organic carrot, shredded 1 cup organic broccoli sprouts, rinsed 1 ½ cups organic berries of your choice 1 ½ cup Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Roasted and Salted Sunflower Seeds 1 organic avocado, chopped INSTRUCTIONS 1. Blend all of the dressing ingredients, except the chia seeds, in a blender or with an immersion blender until smooth. Taste and adjust salt and maple syrup as desired. Stir in the chia seeds and set aside. 2. Combine the kale, olive oil, and a generous pinch of salt in a large bowl. Use your hands to massage the kale thoroughly until the leaves have softened and are a shade darker. Add the greens, carrot, and sprouts. Toss the salad with about half of the dressing. Gently stir in the berries, sunflower seeds, and avocado before serving; alternatively, plate the salad mixture and top each serving with the berries, sunflower seeds, and avocado. Serve extra dressing on the side.
